If you´ve experienced a Traditional Thai Massage you´ll know just how refreshing and reinvigorating, yet relaxing it is.
Now, you can learn more about this exciting therapy on a 2-day course which will give you a working knowledge sufficient to give a basic full-body treatment.
Traditional Thai Massage is a very practical based therapy with not too much theory to digest so at least 75% of the time you´ll be experiencing hands-on massage, working with a partner. We will be a small group so I can give you maximum attention and advice.
Over the weekend you will learn how to incorporate Acupressure, Medidian work and Yoga stretches to create an incredibly effective deep massage which not only relieves tension and stress but has very real results in healing old and new injuries as well as general aches and pains.
Instead of leaving your partner relaxed yet sleepy, send them off refreshed and ready to take on the world – and win! And you´ll win too, as it imparts a fantastic energy to the therapist.
WHY THAI MASSAGE?
Traditional Thai Massage incorporates powerful stretches, enabling you to work deeply into muscles and joints – it is much more effective than “normal” massage, especially on large people.
You will learn how to apply finger and thumb pressure to Sen Lines thus rebalancing your partners energy levels.
Acupressure Points are activated for pain control, to free trapped nerves and improve mobility Passive Yoga is applied to increase flexibility and strength.
Since your partner is relaxed these exercises are more effective than if they were using their own motive power.
Traditional Thai Massage is also good for the masseur – you are using your own and your partner´s bodyweight, moving around a lot and stretching – which keeps you fit and supple and free from back problems.
Also, because you are using forearms, palms, elbows, knees, feet there is less wear and tear on your thumbs than with conventional massages.
BENEFITS OF THAI MASSAGE - WHAT IS THAI MASSAGE SUITABLE FOR?
Traditional Thai Massage relaxes, yet re-energizes, affecting both mind and body, bringing your partner back into an original state of balance and harmony.
It is extremely useful for many conditions when something more than conventional massage is needed ie
Frozen shoulder
Persistent back problems
Sciatica
Trapped nerves and paralysis
Sporting injuries
Also, because you are working with subtle energies I have frequently found improvements in sufferers of ME, MS, depression and even cancer.
Whilst Thai Massage is traditionally carried out on the floor it is not essential and can therefore be used on a partner on a table or even seated.
Also, since it is performed with the client fully clothed it can be taken into the public arena such as trade fairs, events etc.
The Level 1 course will cater for both the interested amateur simply wishing to massage family and friends and also qualified therapists who would like to incorporate the most important Thai exercises into their existing treatments.
The course will take place over 2 days from 10.00-5.30, with a lunch break (mainly veggie lunch provided). Please arrive in good time Saturday as we will start at 10 prompt.
Numbers will be limited so everyone gets individual attention.
Most courses will be held between Leeds and Harrogate out in the country so there´s good energies, good parking and peace and quiet.
If you need a list of B&Bs or hotels in Harrogate (4 mls) or Leeds (12mls) let me know. There are any amount of good restaurants around and plenty to do if anyone wishes to bring a partner along.
The price of £130 (£ 40 deposit required) includes a detailed course manual, lunches and refreshments. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket and wear loose clothing ie track suit.
