Aromatherapy is the use of aromatic natural oils extracted from plants and applied to the body through massage.

Many oils have specific properties ie

  • Lavender - relaxing, healing burns, mosquito repellent

  • Rosemary - liver tonic, head “clearing”, strengthening

  • Geranium - skin care, chilblains, PMT

By choosing from over 60 oils the therapist is able to treat quite specific problems and create a unique blend for each client`s need.

Gentle massage techniques are employed to encourage the body to heal by cleaning toxins out of the system, bringing nutrients to the deepest cells creating a sense of well being and deep relaxation.

References to the use of oils were found in ancient literature and the Bible and the same plants we use today were used for beauty and also emblaming in the Egypt of the Pharaohs.

Aromatherapy massage can be enjoyed purely for relaxation or to treat specific conditions when a course of  treatment is recommended. Although oils can be used for self-treatment, in the bath or burners it is always advisable to consult a qualified therapist as some oils are not suitable for certain conditions such as pregnancy, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy.
